In our previous blogs, we have discussed some useful things you can do during lockdown to benefit your mental and physical health, and at the very least maintain your health and fitness. (if you would like to check out this article, click here). In short, there are multiple ways that you can still make great progress in your fitness journey during this period of time - if you consider two key factors: knowledge and application.
Application refers to how much effort and focus you decide to put in. It covers your use of time, your motivation, your discipline and your commitment to your goals. This will massively vary from person to person and likely vary from day to day within each individual. Overall, this one is on you - we can help with the application for sure, but you’ve gotta want it and be prepared to go get (figuratively speaking).
As far as knowledge is concerned, you have an enormous amount of options available for how you can acquire your knowledge. In fact, it may be fair to suggest that there is often too much knowledge available. Quite often, you end up having more unanswered questions than you started with, due to the vast ocean of information you can easily find yourself lost in.
"It is our job to break this information down and explain it to you, in a scientific yet understandable way. We can cherry pick the best information to educate you with, guided by years of research and experience"
This is where we feel, as coaches, that we have a huge role to play. It is our job to break this information down and explain it to you, in a scientific yet understandable way. We can cherry pick the best information to educate you with, guided by years of research and experience. An entire blog in itself can be written about the benefits of coaching - however for this blog we will be covering what knowledge and coaching we can provide to you during this time.
Many of you may be looking for guidance on how to make the most of your training in the current circumstances, whilst many may be starting something completely new due to boredom or having a rare amount of time for self-development. Whatever your circumstances are - we can help. Here is a list of the useful coaching services you can take advantage of during the lockdown period.
Online Personal Training. We have effectively run Online 1-1 sessions since the start of lockdown to help clients to continue to work towards their goals. Sessions can be completed to a high standard with very limited kit, however having some equipment will make this process far more worthwhile. If you would like to know more, please get in contact with us. If you would like to consider some kit you can buy, check out this blog.
Online Exercise Classes. Like our 1-1 sessions, our classes have been operating online for the past month and they have so far been very successful. One of us will commentate live on the exercises, providing technique coaching, tips, encouragement and direction through the circuit - whilst the other coach will perform the entire class live on screen with you. We have had great reviews from the online classes so far - give them a try!
Session Programming. Are you looking for some help with what to do in your training sessions with your limited kit? Are you bored of doing the same old routines over and over again? Are you finding the free sessions many pt’s are posting on social media just aren’t specific enough for your goals? Perhaps having your training sessions programmed would be a great idea for you!
Nutrition Coaching. Are you finding it really difficult to keep weight/fat off during this period? Are you worried you aren’t eating enough to maintain/build muscle during the lockdown? Or maybe you would like to use this period to your advantage and really nail down your nutrition habits. We can help you through this process by providing education around all aspects of nutrition, as well as guide you on what/how much to eat to achieve your goals.
Running Programmes. Whilst neither of us will pretend to be running coaches, we can provide running programmes for those of you that are looking to improve their aerobic fitness and have running-based goals. For those that compete in sport, we can help you to improve your fitness levels with structured fitness and sprint sessions. We can help you to have a structured routine so you are able to progress effectively whilst still having sufficient time to recover.
Family Group PT. We have been delivering some family group pt sessions to great success. If you want a way to get the kids involved in some training this is a great way for them to start. They will learn very well from you setting an example. It’s also a great way to keep them active and burn off some of their endless energy. When it comes to training for kids, the younger they start the better - so long as they are being sensible with the loads they lift and use safe technique.
Health & Fitness Consultancy. This is a 1-1 consultation in which we can provide the answers to those unanswered questions you may have. Do you find yourself confused about all the vast amounts of information our there? Are you caught in the middle of a trying to achieve too many goals at once and need some guidance on where to direct your focus? Think of this like an informal lesson on whatever it is you want to learn - we post alot of free information online but this is an opportunity for you to receive personal teaching and learning.
This extensive list shows that regardless of what your health and fitness interests are, we can help you. We have packages available for many of the above services - and some of the services above can be effectively combined to better serve your goals, for example you may have nutrition coaching and attend our online classes to help with fat loss.
